In an effort to create a more sustainable future, Kia has signed a global partnership with The Ocean Cleanup – a Netherlands-based non-profit organisation that develops technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. The Ocean Cleanup supplies usable collected plastic to Kia to be recycled, while Kia supplies electric vehicles to the organisation’s headquarters.¹

Kia is phasing out the use of leather in its vehicles

To help reduce CO₂ emissions, Kia is planning to eventually stop using animal leather materials in all of its future vehicles. Instead, Bio-Polyurethane (BIO PU) – derived from natural components such as eucalyptus and corn – will replace leather and Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC).²
