Why choose Youi Building insurance?

With cover for theft, fire, earthquakes, floods, storms and much more1, our Building insurance is made for the unexpected.

What does our Building insurance cover?

Theft

If your home is the target of burglary, theft or attempted theft, we’ll cover the loss or damage caused to the insured property.1

Fire

We’ll cover the costs of repairing your home if it is damaged by accidental fire – including bushfire, soot, smoke, or fire caused by mechanical, electronic, or electrical failure.2

Earthquake

Earthquakes aren’t super common in Australia, but it’s still good to be prepared. If an earthquake damages your property during an insured event, we’ll handle the repair costs.1

Explosion

Explosions can cause serious damage to a home. That’s why we cover the cost of repairs if your home is damaged in an accidental explosion.1

Riot

If your insured property is damaged in a riot or other civil commotion, we’ll cover the costs to repair it.1

Storm

With Youi’s Building insurance, you’re covered for damage caused by lightning, wind, hail and snow.2

Flood

We cover loss or damage to your property caused by floods, and landslip or subsidence that occurs within 72 hours of – and directly because of – a flood during your policy period.2

Escaping water

We’ll foot the bill for loss or damage caused to your insured property from escaping water that occurs suddenly and without warning, or so slowly over time that you couldn’t reasonably have been aware of it.4

Impact

Whether it’s a falling tree, a power pole, a satellite dish or space debris, you’re covered for loss or damage to your insured property caused by impact.1

Intentional damage

If your insured property is damaged in an act of purposeful damage – such as vandalism – we’ll cover the repair costs, as long as the damage wasn’t caused by you, a tenant, or someone allowed onto the property by you or your tenant.1

Animal damage

We’ll cover loss or damage to your home caused by an animal that isn’t your pet. Vermin, insect, and bird damage isn’t covered, unless the bird is accidentally trapped inside.5

If an accident happens at your insured property and you’re held liable for injury, property damage or death, we’ll cover up to $20 million under your Building insurance policy.6
