Flat batteries

Our emergency roadside assistance service will jump-start your motorcycle or car battery. If we can’t, we’ll arrange a replacement battery – subject to availability and for an additional cost – or tow your vehicle to safety.2

Vehicle towing

If our emergency assistance road service can’t get your vehicle back on the road, we’ll cover the cost to tow it to the nearest accredited repairer – up to 20km from the breakdown site in metropolitan areas or 50km in regional areas. Certain exclusions apply, for example, we don’t tow vehicles that are large or heavy enough to require a specialist or heavy haulage towing provider.2

Emergency fuel

If your vehicle’s run out of fuel, we’ll arrange the delivery of up to 10 litres of emergency fuel to help you reach the nearest petrol station. For LPG or electric vehicles, we’ll organise a towing service to the closest service station, charging depot or safe location.3

Flat tyres

If you get a flat tyre we’ll swap it with your spare tyre. Or, if your vehicle is towable, we’ll organise towing to an approved tyre outlet or the nearest safe location – up to 20km from the breakdown location in metro areas, and up to 50km in regional areas.1

Lost or locked keys

If your keys are lost – but not stolen – or locked inside your vehicle, Youi’s roadside assistance service will either arrange for the spare key to be delivered, help you gain access into the vehicle, or organise a towing service if the vehicle is towable.4 The most we will pay for this service is $250.

Caravan and trailer assistance

If your car breaks down while towing a caravan or trailer and can’t be driven, we’ll cover the towing of both vehicles to the same location, as long as they’re towable and you’re within your car’s towing limits. There are some exclusions and you must let us know about the caravan or trailer when you call Youi Roadside Assist.5

Bogged vehicle

If your vehicle gets bogged, our roadside assistance service will recover it, as long as there’s safe access for a standard two-wheel drive roadside recovery vehicle and no other specialist equipment is required.1

Taxi

If your vehicle can’t be fixed on the spot and a taxi service is available in the area, we’ll cover up to $50 for one taxi ride to help you and your passengers get to where you need to go.1

While Youi Roadside Assist is automatically included as standard with our Comprehensive car and motorcycle insurance policies, there are a few cover limits to be aware of.1

Call outs

Your first two Roadside Assist requests during your contract period are included, no call-out fees attached. Used them up? No worries – you can easily purchase extra call-outs whenever you need them.

Towing

We’ll organise a towing service to tow your car up to 50km in regional areas and 20km in metro areas. There are some exclusions. For example, we don’t tow vehicles that are large or heavy enough to require a specialist or heavy haulage towing service.

Fuel – petrol and diesel

A maximum of 10 litres of fuel is provided per call-out.

Lost or locked keys

Up to $250 in fees for this service are covered per Roadside Assist request.

Youi’s roadside assistance service covers up to $50 in taxi fares per call-out for you and your passengers.

Towing distance limits of 20km in metropolitan areas and 50km in regional areas of QLD apply.2 “Metropolitan” refers to Brisbane and all suburbs of the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast. All areas outside Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast are defined as “regional”. If you live in QLD, you’re still covered by Youi Roadside Assist if you break down interstate.

In Adelaide, a towing distance limit of 20km applies. For all locations outside of Adelaide, a towing limit of 50km applies.1 To receive assistance from Youi Roadside Assist, vehicles must be in a location accessible by a two-wheel drive roadside recovery vehicle via a permanent road.6

Yes. Youi Roadside Assist is a national mobile roadside assistance service and is generally available to Comprehensive car or motorcycle policy-holders in all two-wheel drive accessible areas across Australia.

If you have a Youi Comprehensive car insurance policy and your car breaks down while towing a caravan or trailer, just let us know. As long as both are towable, Youi will cover the costs for a towing service to tow both vehicles to the nearest safe spot, up to 20km in a metro area or 50km in a regional area from the breakdown location – unless there is an insured event, in which case the policy’s towing coverage applies.1

We also offer separate Caravan & Trailer insurance. There are a few things to consider when you’re deciding what level of cover is right for you, but our Comprehensive and Third Party Fire & Theft policies include coverage for up to $1,000 per claim for unrecoverable caravan park cancellation or rebooking fees if your caravan or trailer suffers loss or damage due to an insured event.7 A total of $2,000 applies across all incidents in the contract period.7

My cars steering locked and was unable to start it whilst out on a Friday afternoon. Contacted Youi customer support and within 45 minutes roadside assist had me moving again. As I’m in regional Victoria this was in my opinion fantastic service. The technician was so helpful and knew exactly what to do, and customer service were so efficient and caring. Thank you Youi.

Reasonable premium with good cover.

After trying all the compare insurance sites, some premiums were close to the 2K. YOUi were the most reasonable with the roadside assist being included.
