Youi Community Scrum Expands 2026 Program

Communmity Scrum

As the Official Partner of NRL Fans, Youi is committed to supporting the communities and people that make the game what it is – the fans. That's why we're proud to bring back the Youi Community Scrum for a third consecutive year and expand the program in 2026.

Co-developed with the NRL, the Youi Community Scrum is designed to support regional communities impacted by significant weather events through programs focused on mental wellbeing, resilience and connection.

Growing our reach

Following two successful years delivering support to regional communities across Australia, the program is expanding in 2026 to reach further communities across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Running from July to August, the initiative will engage more than 250 participants through local schools and rugby league clubs, including Geelong Sharks Rugby League Club, Werribee Bears and Coffs Harbour Comets. Through the power of sport, participants will have the opportunity to strengthen their wellbeing, build resilience and reconnect with their local communities.

Led by NRL community ambassadors, including former professional players such as Clinton Toopi, the State of Mind program delivers interactive workshops on and off the field focused on emotional resilience, mental health and community connection spoken in footy language.

Youi’s Chief Marketing Officer, Angela Greenwood, said Youi is excited to see the initiative return for its third consecutive year in 2026.

"Rugby league play such an important role in bringing communities together, from local clubs and schools through to the millions of fans who support the game every week. As the Official Partner of NRL Fans, we're proud to help ensure those communities continue to thrive," she said.

Not just building resilience but providing relief

Beyond the resilience program, Youi has also provided funding and equipment to the local schools and rugby league clubs, helping replace training gear damaged or lost during weather events and giving these clubs a much-needed boost to ensure young players can continue playing the sport they love. The expanded reach of this year’s program will continue this investment to make a meaningful impact.

Since launching in 2024, the Youi Community Scrum has supported regional communities across the Northern Rivers, Brisbane, Townsville, Melton and Gympie regions, helping young people and families recover from the impacts of major floods and significant storms.

The Youi Community Scrum reflects Youi's commitment to supporting communities at a grassroots level beyond insurance by creating meaningful opportunities to connect, learn and support resilience on the ground where it's needed most.

Through the program, we're connecting with real people, hearing real stories and working alongside the NRL to help communities rebuild, recover and thrive – both on and off the field.
