That’s why we’re committed to making a real difference where it counts most – at the grassroots level.
Through our longstanding partnership with the NRL, we’ve proudly co-developed a community-focused program that reflects this commitment.
Launched in 2024, the Youi Community Scrum has been designed to support regional communities –and the dedicated footy fans within them – that are still feeling the effects of past significant weather events.
Led by the NRL’s expert facilitators and ambassadors who are typically former professional players, the Youi Community Scrum program is delivered in local primary and high schools, as well as rugby league clubs in the area. The program focuses on supporting individuals by providing training and resources on emotional resilience and mental fitness, all delivered through the engaging theme of rugby league.
In 2024, the Youi and NRL team visited the NSW Northern Rivers and Outer Brisbane regions, both of which were still recovering from significant flooding. The Youi Community Scrum program was delivered across local schools and rugby league clubs, including the Mullumbimby Giants and Brothers Saint Brendan’s.
Youi was able to provide further investment by donating much-needed funding to the local clubs, helping them replace training gear that had been lost in the floods. This support gave the clubs a much-needed boost, enabling the kids to get back on the field and continue their love for footy. Through the Youi Community Scrum, we're connecting with real people, hearing real stories and responding with real, on the ground impact.
Youi is incredibly proud to partner with the NRL in delivering the Community Scrum program, providing tangible support to communities that have faced significant challenges. In June 2025, Youi and the NRL will visit Gympie in Queensland to roll out the Youi Community Scrum program across local schools and rugby league clubs.
The region is still recovering from significant weather events in recent years, and this initiative is one way we’re extending our support – beyond insurance – by working alongside the NRL to uplift the communities and fans who live and breathe rugby league.
