Youi Supporting First Nations Youth for AIATSIS Summit 2026

AIATSIS Summit 2026

Youi is proud to be supporting the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) Summit by sponsoring two Youth Delegates to attend this year’s event on the Gold Coast.

The Youth Scholarship creates an impactful contribution that offers these candidates the opportunity to expand their network, gain valuable insights, and strengthen their emerging leadership capabilities. A ticket for the five-days is provided for successful candidates as well as flights, meals, accommodation and a travel allowance.

By sponsoring two delegates for the AIATSIS Summit, it creates an opportunity to remove barriers for young First Nations people and offers access to vital community education and discussions. As a space where Indigenous voices lead conversations, it’s a direct line to build confidence for young people and highlight pathways into leadership.

Where these delegates may not have had access before, they are able to gain strong cultural grounding and find pride in their identity. With confidence like this, these delegates can go back to their communities and workplaces to enact their newfound skills to speak up for what is important to them.

Head of Marketing & Communications at Youi, Dave Annesley, said, “We aim to enable young people from diverse backgrounds to achieve positive and impactful life outcomes by investing in education and innovation initiatives like the AIATSIS Summit. Through our youth scholarship, we support access to opportunities that encourage skill development, build self-confidence and future pathways for young First Nations people.

“Sponsoring young individuals to be able to attend the AITSIS Summit is grounded in our belief that young people should be at the centre of conversations about the future. Youth perspectives bring energy, insight and innovation, and we’re proud to support their leadership and participation at such a significant national gathering.”

This event highlights how important connection and storytelling are within our First Nations communities to broaden culture, skills and knowledge. It brings together Elders, leaders, and youth along with academics, Native Title stakeholders, legal experts, the Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAM) sector and government representatives to collaborate on the issues that matter most to First Nations peoples.

The AIATSIS Summit for 2026 is based around the theme ‘Our Truth. Our Power. Our Future.’ It pays tribute to, and acknowledges, the lived experience, strength, solidarity, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
